For demo & QA teams

The next session starts with your team.

Give the presenter or tester an Action Link for their designated VM. Use schedules for agreed downtime, while the administrator manages the cloud connection.

No signup or cloud connection. Explore with sample VMs.
To connect your own VMs, create an account.

Existing customer? Open your dashboard

Start with existing, non-production VMs. An individual power action does not provide application login, remote desktop access or a guarantee of application readiness.

Make the handoff clear

The admin sets it up.
The team uses it.

  1. Choose the resources.

An administrator connects the cloud account, selects the VMs and confirms workload owners, operating hours and restart requirements.

  2. Set the schedule.

Schedule demo or test VMs for expected use. Logical groups let administrators schedule related resources together.

  3. Share a VM Action Link.

Give the intended teammate a link for the selected individual VM action. They can use it without signing in to the cloud provider.

Know the boundaries

A VM action.
A clear owner.

Does one Action Link start the whole application?

The Action Links described here target individual VMs. Logical groups support scheduling related resources. Confirm ordered startup, application health and a multi-VM control workflow separately before relying on them.

Do teammates need cloud-console accounts?

An individual VM Action Link can be used without a cloud-console login. An administrator still connects and authorizes VMPower. Anyone with a valid link may be able to use its action.

How do we choose a safe off-hours window?

Check representative usage, background jobs and dependencies with the workload owner. Test recovery on a non-production VM first. Keep scarce GPU capacity, always-on services and untested dependencies outside automatic shutdown.

Will this reduce every part of the cloud bill?

Stopping eligible on-demand compute can reduce running-time charges. Storage, network addresses, licenses, reserved capacity and committed spend may continue to cost money. Compare the actual bill with the VMPower fee.

Is VMPower a virtual desktop platform?

VMPower manages cloud-resource power and schedules. It does not replace desktop brokering, user profiles or application delivery. Check whether your current desktop platform already provides the control you need.
